^ It was interesting to see which countries use the same basic colors. I know the EU mandated the use of maroon-passports for their member-states, but I wonder why Russia, Mongolia and China use red? I'm sure it's not only for Communism. Also I have a Canadian and an American passport and they both use blue (although slightly different shades.) ^
