Canadians Not Allowed

From Yahoo Canada:
"Jeff Probst explains why Canadians can’t compete on ‘Survivor’"

Canadians want to compete on "Survivor" just as much as Americans do — but it doesn't look like we'll be able to vote anyone off the island any time soon. On Global's "The Morning Show" on Thursday, "Survivor" host Jeff Probst talked about the "love affair" Canadians have with the reality series.  "The biggest question is, why won't you let Canadians on the show?" Probst said. "It's a rights issue. We can only have Americans." Despite the lack of Canadians on the show, Global reports that "Survivor" remains top-rated in households north of the border. "It’s been that way from the beginning, and now that there’s social media and you can talk to people much more easily, I really see it," Probst explained. He's not entirely sure why Canucks are so enthralled with the series, but the Emmy-winning host is not willing to look a gift horse in the mouth. "I don’t know what the love affair is, but I love the love affair," he said. Even if Canadians will never appear on the show, don't worry: The "Survivor" host will still come to us:

^ I don't understand why Canadians can't be on "Survivor." There are many American television shows (including reality shows) that allow Canadians on. Maybe there should be a Canadian Survivor like there is a Chopped Canada. ^
