90 Day Fiance

TLC has a show called "90 Day Fiance." It follows several couples (so far all the men are Americans and all the women are foreigners) who haven't spent more than a few weeks together and have 90 days to get married in the US or the women have to leave. One thing I don't like is how everyone constantly says that the 90 day limit forces them to do things quickly (ie get to know each other and get married.) The K-1 Visa is not meant for couples to get to know each other and then decide to get married. It's meant for already engaged couples (who supposedly know each other) to get married in the US. You can tell which women on the show are just trying to get a way to stay in the US and which ones really seem to love their fiancé.
I have seen both sides of this in real life. I have seen those couples that are truly in love and just want to live in the same place together (whether in the US or another country) and I have seen those couples where the American is being tricked by a person who just wants to live in America. Everytime, I flew from Russia to come home the plane was filled with European and American men all talking about their girlfriends or fiancées and the majority had just met them for the first time. Luckily, I wasn't one of those men.
Watching this show is like watching a accident - you just can't help but keep watching to see what happens next. I'm curious to see if my predictions on each couple come true.
