Ukraine's MPs

From UNIAN:
"Ukraine to create military police"

The Strategic Defense Bulletin, which has been enacted by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, foresees the creation of military police in Ukraine. The military police will be set up on the basis of the military law enforcement units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which will undergo reorganization, reads the Strategic Defense Bulletin, posted on the president's official website. The general structure and major functions of the military police, including pre-trial investigation into crimes committed by servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will be legislatively stipulated. The military police will be also authorized to conduct search and surveillance activity. Read also Poroshenko enacts Ukraine's defense road map. The Strategic Defense Bulletin says that following the reorganization, the military police's capacity will be beefed up, while its organization structure will be optimized in line with the new structure of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As UNIAN reported earlier, Poroshenko on June 6 signed an order to enact the Strategic Defense Bulletin passed by Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council on May 20, 2016.
^ It's surprising that the Ukrainian military didn't already have a military police force. I thought every military had one. ^
