Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer declared a state of emergency for the city and asked Governor Scott to request a state of emergency.
Several conservative commentators, including Steven Crowder, Mark Hemingway of the Weekly Standard, and Sebastian Gorka of Marine Corps University, have assigned responsibility for the attack to political correctness and a tendency for liberals, especially politicians, to push for increased gun control while shielding Islam and Muslims from criticism for political gain.  Some have further argued that the root cause of the attack, which they view as symptomatic, is Islamic fundamentalism rather than a supposedly depraved American gun culture fueled by the National Rifle Association.

^ I thought it was interesting what the leaders of the countries where homosexuality is illegal had to say with regards to this attack on gays (especially when gay people in those countries are often put to death.) ^
