Well it looks like we are keeping our satellite internet. Fairpoint (the only phone company in my area) was supposed to come today to install everything. When they didn't show up I called to find out what was going on. After 2 hours, dealing with 8 different people and getting 11 different answers I was told I waited the 2 weeks from when I ordered the service so someone in their office could flip a switch and I was expected to install the new modern myself. I asked why I waited 2 weeks for a switch to be flipped and was told it was because they have employees on strike - which isn't my problem since I don't get a discount on waiting. None of the employees (all 8 of them) I dealt with could look up the same information as the other person - even when they were in the same department. It's clearly a case of the right foot not knowing what the left is doing and if that is the "service" you receive to start service I can't imagine what you get when the service finally starts.
I had them cancel everything relating to the Internet with them (still have to keep the landline since cells don't work up here.) They wouldn't even take the new modern back or send me a letter/e-mail saying they don't want it back. Dealing with them gets a big Oy Vey!
