Israeli Humanity

From USA Today:
"Israelis call on family of murdered Palestinian teen"

About 350 Israelis, including many born and raised in the USA, made a condolence call Tuesday to the family of Mohammed Abu Khdeir, the Palestinian teen who was murdered last week in a revenge killing prompted by the murder of three kidnapped Israeli teens. Israel Police have six unnamed Jewish suspects in custody, three of whom confessed to killing Mohammed, according to the Associated Press. Tuesday's visit was organized by Tag Meir, a coalition of progressive Israeli Jewish organizations. "From what we know, the murder was an extension of the preaching and the teaching of hatred by some Israeli rabbis versus anyone who isn't Jewish," said Rabbi Ron Kronish, director of the Interreligious Coordinating Council in Israel. "What Israel needs to do is to arrest the inciters before they commit a crime," Kronish said. A mourning tent was set up in a parking lot with hundreds of chairs for visitors. A large photo of the teen hung on a wall.  As the Israelis solemnly shook hands with about a dozen of Mohammed's male relatives, Sallah Abu Khdeir, the slain teenager's cousin, expressed appreciation for the visit. "It gives us a good feeling to see that there are Israelis who reject this murder," he said. Mohammed was a very quiet boy with many friends, the cousin said. "He was a good son to his father." The visit by the Israelis, including many wearing yarmulkes, "is a positive thing," the aunt said, "but it doesn't bring back Mohammed."

^ While this is a touching show by the Israelis for the slain Palestinian teenager (killed by Israelis) the real question here is did any Palestinians show the same support to any of the family members of the 3 Israeli teenagers (killed by the Palestinians first?) I doubt it. Once again, this shows the humanity that the Israeli people have and continue to show even when their children are murdered and their cities bombed. What signs of humanity come from the Palestinian side? I would be curious to see any. ^
