Memorial Day

Today is Memorial Day. Today we remember the men and women who fought and died protecting our country. You would think that because we are currently in two wars and have soldiers dying more people would stop for a minute and pay homage for those that are giving up their lives so we can have carefree moments. Unfortunately, most people only think about going swimming, having BBQs, etc and not those that had to die so we can be free.
Not much was mentioned on the news today (and most days) about the wars and those that are dying. The media tends to only focus on one story until it becomes so annoying that you don't want to hear anything more about it (currently it is all the tornadoes.)
I realize the sacrifice that our soldiers (and their families) make so that I can sit here and write about it without any worries. I only wish others would do the same.
