On January 23,
2024, Judge Richard Mosley of the Federal Court ruled that the use of the
Emergencies Act was unreasonable, ultra vires, and that the Crown had violated
Section 2(b) and Section 8 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
He was
sanctioned by Canada's Ethics Commissioner for violating Conflict of Interest
rules regarding the Aga Khan Affair, and again with the SNC-Lavalin Affair.
