^ This gives the average snowfall
amounts for New England. I live in the 75-100 inches area (191- 254 cm for my
non-American Metric friends), but am right on the border with the 100-125
inches (254-318 cm) area.
Of course living on a mountain we
get slightly more. We get the Forecasted Snowfall and then the Unforecasted
Mountain Snow - it could be snowing at my house and when I drive off the
mountain to my mailbox there could be no snow falling.
We have a saying up here:
"If it ends in day between September and May then it must be
snowing." We have another saying up here: “Survive 1 Winter here and you’re
lucky. Survive 3 or more Winters here and you can survive anything thrown at
you.” This is my 13th Winter here. ^
