^ It depends on when a country or
religion switched from the Julian Calendar to the Gregorian Calendar. The
Julian Calendar was created by Julius Caesar and came into force on January 1, 45
BC. The Gregorian Calendar was created by Pope Gregory XIII and came into force
in October 1582. Catholic countries (ie.
Spain and it’s Empire in 1582) changed to the Gregorian Calendar shortly after
it was created by the Roman Catholic Church. Protestant countries (ie. the UK
and it’s Empire in 1752) changed to the Gregorian Calendar in the 1700s.
Eastern Orthodox Countries (ie. Russia in 1918) changed to the Gregorian
Calendar in the 20th Century. ^
