Different Missions

If people could learn the facts that would be great. The US has an Embassy in Jerusalem (which covers Israel.) The US also has a Consulate-General in Jerusalem (which covers Jerusalem, the West Bank and Gaza - ie. the Palestinians.) There is also a US Consulate in Tel Aviv (which covers Israel.)

FYI: A Consulate-General is on-par with an Embassy and is under the control of the State Department (the only other US Consulate-General is in Hong Kong) whereas a Consulate is under the control of an Embassy and the Embassy under the State Department.
