Which Communist Date?

A Russian friend asked me when I thought Russia should celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Communist October Revolution this year (October 25th in the Old Style Calendar or on November 7th in the New Style Calendar.) I said that I didn't think Russia should celebrate either of those days (or any.)

The 1917 Great October Socialist Revolution - Великая Октябрьская социалистическая революция- not to be confused with the 1917 February Revolution- February in Old Style and March in New Style - where the Czar abdicated and democracy reigned for several months) brought about a totalitarian dictatorship that enslaved and murdered millions upon millions of innocent men, women and children within Russia, Europe and many other parts of the world for 74 years.

The victims should be remembered and the Communist murderers should be shunned everyday, but more importantly on the 100th Anniversary of the start of their reign of terror whether it is considered October 25th or November 7th.
