"'America's Got Talent': Deaf singer Mandy Harvey blows judges away"
America’s Got Talent had another Golden Buzzer moment Tuesday night, and with it came one of the most moving, tearjerking performances of the show’s history. Mandy Harvey is deaf. She lost her hearing about 10 years ago due to a connective tissue disorder. But here she stands on the stage of the NBC reality competition show, performing an original song she wrote called "Try." As she explained and later sang for judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Mel B., the lyrics are about wanting to do more with her life after feeling the need to give up. Her translator signed as Harvey’s performance moved the audience and Cowell, who eagerly gave her the Golden Buzzer and sent her through to the live shows. "It was incredible," he said as he hugged Harvey on stage. "I’ve done this a long time. That was one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen and heard." Cowell added, "Honestly, I never think I’m gonna be surprised or amazed by people, and then you turn up. Just the fact that you are you, but it was your voice, your tone, the song was beautiful."
^ I watched the show and she was really good. ^
