Pay Minimum

I got this from a friend on Facebook. If you just look at the hourly amounts then you can see the US is much lower. Most places in Europe give you a higher minimum wage and then take out most in taxes (for healthcare coverage, pensions, etc.) The US, on the other hand, forces people to buy their own healthcare coverage. No money is taken out for that (except to help pay for those on Medicaid and for their Social Security.) Do I think the minimum wage in the US should be raised? That's hard to say. On the one-hand I say "Yes" because it will help those people with jobs to make more. On the other hand, I say "No" because it will hurt someone who is looking for a job the same way Obamacare has. With Obamacare there have been more jobs added, but mostly only part-time jobs so benefits don't have to be provided. If we have a higher minimum wage then many employers may not even make those part-time jobs available and so someone who desperately needs work won't be able to get something.
