From the Kabul Small Animal Rescue’s Facebook:
We have had long busy days here
in Kabul, but have a few updates for you and want to introduce you to one our
newest guests. Gibson is a beautiful street dog with a very serious underbite,
likely genetic, but we will send him in for x-rays this week. He can eat canned
and soft food well and doesn't appear to be in any pain right now. He just
followed one of the staff home, so we invited him in! We've named him in honor
of the belated father of one of our supporters who loved animals and passed
away still petting his dog. We hope to give lovely Gibson a life with that kind
of love.
As many have noticed, we have
taken down our evacuation plane fundraisers. We have done this because we
finally do have enough to cover the cost of that flight following a change in
route, and we think it's unethical to push the fundraiser when so many were
giving the little they had. In the next couple days we will open fundraisers
for ongoing operational costs through our own links and those of our sister
organization War Paws, so that Gift Aid can be added in the UK. Thanks to the
support of some tech-savvy supporters, we should also have a website relatively
soon, and will be able to show which animals are looking for homes. In the
meantime, we appreciate your patience and the enormous continued support and
encouragement.
^ I’m glad they have the flight
for the 300+ animals and that they continue to help the abandoned and abused,
like Gibson. ^
