“Dorothy Phyllis Morgan”



Troy - Dorothy Phyllis Morgan, 90, formerly of 25th Street Troy and Burns Apartments in Troy, died Friday, February 26, 2021, at Diamond Hill after a long illness .Born in Troy, she was daughter of the late Thomas James Morgan and Dorothy Hogarth Hilditch Morgan. She had resided in Troy most of her life. She was a graduate of the Mary Warren School (grammar school), St. Agnes School, Loudonville, now known as Doane Stuart School and Scudder Business College in NYC. Phyllis was employed at Bloomfield's Card Shop, Broadway, Troy, after school hours and summer vacation and was a secretary of the Home Title Guarantee Company in White Plains a few years, Manufacturers National Bank, Troy (Broadway office) and an Executive Secretary for Marine Midland Bank for 20 years from which she retired. She was active, since she was 3, in the former Holy Cross Church (Episcopal), the Altar Guild, Clerk of the Vestry since 1980 and Administrative Assistant of the church. The church closed in 2010. She then became a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Watervliet. She was a member of the Troy Christian Women, Credit Women's Breakfast Club of which she was Secretary and Treasurer, secretary of Center Brunswick Young at Heart, Senior Citizens and St. Agnes Alumni Association, Center Brunswick Young at Heart Seniors - Secretary, and trip coordinator for the Mary Warren Alumni Association as well as clerk and member until she retired. Survivors include her cousins, Barbara Patchett, CO and Jean Wilson, Leadville, CO and her friend, Alicia B. Todaro, Latham. She was predeceased by cousins, Janette Jana, Morgan Kreiss and Emily Riggs and many dear friends. Relatives and friends may call at the Trinity Church 1336 First Avenue Watervliet on Thursday, March 4, 2021 from 9-9:30AM with a service to follow at 9:30AM with Rev. Martin Wendell, Priest in Charge. Face covering and social distancing are required both outside and inside during visitation and services .Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery Troy.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Dorothy Phyllis Morgan to the Trinity Church 1336 First Avenue Watervliet 12189.
